	INTRODUCTION (with Prologue and Chapter One) Imagine if you will a world dependant on the smallest of creatures, the simplest of beings to exist. Evolution is a natural part of life. Species come and go under the laws of Mother Nature. Under the weight of man, Mother Nature need not bother. The place for animals in our environment is important, but not nearly as critical as it should be perhaps. For example, if the gray wolf should disappear off the face of the earth, the planet will go on. Man will continue to thrive, but picture a hunter with his riffle, he is tracking a gray wolf and takes aim with is weapon. He releases the trigger and the hollow point bullet, traveling faster then sound, makes contact with the wolf's skull. As the bullet tears apart flesh and bone it sets in motion events that tear apart the fabric of earth. The hunter doesn't realize what he has done, as does no one. Why should they realize this? They have never bothered to understand what makes the world live. One person understands though. One person understands all this, and it's not even his own world. Enter Paul and his dragon Pond Paul works for a record store on earth in the year 1982 A.D. His days are spent selling punk albums and his night's slam dancing at clubs. His hair is orange from too much bleach and his face swollen from piercing. Young, bored and punked out, his life is changed forever when one night in his living room a gateway to Aaronmere opens. It pulls him into an unknown world where he finds himself freezing, starving, and deathly afraid until a dwarf finds him and helps him understand the strange world of Aaronmere. It is difficult for Paul to change his ways; he is lonely. During one of his laboring chores he finds a new born dragon shivering and mewling over her slain mother. Paul takes her home not realizing he has found one of the last living ancient dragons. Together they form a deep bond and Paul begins a quest for the salvation of her species. It will be the end of Aaronmere if Paul fails.
